Event Details

Film Acting for Kids and Teens introduces older kids and teens to some of the basic principles of acting in front of the camera.

Students will learn the difference between acting in front of an audience and acting in front of a camera and how 'less is more' on film. This class is ideal for anybody who wants to take the first few steps to acting in front of the camera (and those who want to do it better) or those with exeperience acting on stage who want to discover how to deliver great moments on screen.

Class will cover screen techniques, connecting with your scene partner, auditioning for film, cold reading, and more.

Class is taught by local filmmaker Patrick Sheridan. A graduate of the Vancouver Film School's writing program, Patrick has written and directed over 20 short films, as well as the soon-to-be-released feature, Jimmy Said. He has optioned several feature-length scripts and has two more currently “in development” with out-of-town producers. Patrick has taught a variety of workshops for actors and writers of all abilities and is a highly respected script consultant.
